The Hampshire College Red Barn is…an actual red barn. On April 10, 2004 it was a cold, dark barn too. Though warmed by a fuse-blowing array of bands all day, by the time PG Six vaporized on stage, the creaking building felt like an outdoor campsite: chilly, smoky, and blindingly dark. Not dark like a movie theater or a bedroom, but like a dream, haunted by specters of light that fade as soon as they’re noticed.
